"QUALITY CHILD CARE SERVICES "The Towanda Area School District, in conjunction with the Bradford County Day Care Program, is offering subsidized school age child care services to the children of the school district. The before-school and afterschool programs offer children many opportunities to both learn and play. Full day child care services are available for the days that school is closed due to weather conditions. Trained staff offers a variety of activities to choose from so that each child's special needs and interests can be met. The program compliments the regular classroom day--basing its goals on those of the Towanda School District's by encouraging and enhancing the skills and concepts being learned in school. Nutritious meals are available. Operating hours are from 6:00 am to the start of school and 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm. Extended hours are available due to school delays or early closure due to inclement weather. A program is operated at the Mulberry Street School with transportation available to and from the School. SUBSIDIZED ELIGIBILITYParents, who are working or enrolled in a work related training program, may be eligible for subsidized services. Eligibility is based on family size and income. A sliding fee scale determines fees for subsidized eligible families. FEESFee payments, for parents who are not eligible for subsidies will be based on actual hours of care that each individual needs.
